Of course. What are we to expect. Like GWB's global policy.

Mighty power and oil, that's our policy, ain't that?

I won't even get into politics.

My question is this: Just what is it you all want? What will make you happy here?

PMA:

OK, fair answer.

Let me ask this then: Who determines who should be right then? If, for example, I think that germanium transistors are the greatest things ever. And I get on here and say so. You disagree. You say so. Who is right? Whose experience is more valid? Will this always degenerate into name calling and that kind of thing? What is the point of that?

Why is this so damn hard to understand?

You go to all the work compiling it and edting out all the crap if you feel the need to be altruistic.

PMA:

You are of course free to critise me or any of my actions. In fact, dissention is actually a good thing, when it is genuine.

However, if it is wrapped with political overtones, it is going to fall on deaf ears. I'm not interested in your, or anyone else's, politcal leanings.

Don't make me drag out my Mussolini avatar. Trying to equate forum actions with politics will make me blur the distinction in my favour.

Hi Jens,

I really can't take seriously someone who can't seem to get over the TIM myth. I saw through it in 1972 and expected it to die a natural death, after being well and truly debunked publicly by Robert Cordell.

A couple of acadaemics saw worth in it in their publish or perish lives and certain audio companies and designers won't let it die as there is no doubt still commercial legs in it. If not they can invent a spin-off and call it PIM.....

One really has to question their understanding of FB mechanisms when they persist with this BS!

Looking to your website is like a museum of such dated and wooly thinking.. KSA50clones, Leach clones... that perpetuate such myths.

That's the damage here, people start believing it and we have more blighting overbuilt power and resource consumptive crap.. and wasted effort for an inferior result. :axe:

Cheers,
Greg

Greg.......this is the second time you have made that post, and the second time I am going to tell you to knock it off.

There will not be a next time. You have pushed the envelope to its limits.

Unless you are browsing on a solar powered recycled computer or pedaling a human powered generator and reading this by homemade candle light, put a pesticide free, organically grow, natural dyed, cotton sock in it.

What is the difference between a guru and a swami? A guru is more like a consultant and gets paid for spiritual enlightenment

Phred.......let us deal with the guru.

No one here has attacked him, his products, or his beliefs. He was given my assurrance that we would not let anyone do so. (Unilke other places........) In return, he has to treat all of our members the same way.

Or else.

The Boot. Mussolini style.

What the???

Well read FRED, try "Design for the Real World" by V.Papanek.

No I'm not here to compensate others excesses through self-denial, but to be part of the solution by informed design.

Cheers,
Greg

PMA, how should I address you and your associates? Gentlemen? Sirs? I will include the femine tense, if it is more polite.
Please Sir PMA teach me something useful. Thanks in advance.

just wanted to say i'm really happy to see people stop rattling the sabers (if only for a moment) and start a substantive discussion. i think if we can all promise to play nicely, this forum could yet be a wonderful resource.

phred, it's good to see you again. no, i never got around to building Son of Dork. the closest i got was cloning your simple JFET buffer. :dunno:

Dear John,

I could detail the milestones in my career but you, as a yank ( aussie non-derogatory term for a yank) have worked for a who's who of yank companies. Cool! In my corner of the planet, I've almost always had to create the company because nothing of substance exists, only to be shut out by market 'forces' or low-ass tactics. This is no slight on my abilities to screen BS. When I worked in the US I was ripped off - exploited! But that's business in the US. And an aside to the thread.

A designer, particularly consultant, is only as good as their last effort. My latest (here's your opportunity to shut the door on discussion, Jocko) doesn't do 200KHz full power - but it's hard to go past on audition! Why is that?

Cheerrs,
Greg

The horror..........the horror.....

Why on earth would I want to do that? For all the hate mail some of you have seen fit to shove my way the last 2 weeks............accusing JC of being everything that is evil with the world, a failed audio designer/businessman/whatever, and that I am his boot-licking facilitator that protects him from the Knights in Shining Armour, wielding the Sword of Truth...........nope, here is your chance. Show us what you have. Put up or shut up, so to speak.

As long as none of this turns personal, nope.........have at it. But be prepared to defend your position with something other than just new age mysticism or spouting the same ol' party line that we have grown tired of hearing.

I suspect more than one of you is going to be exposed as not knowing as much as you think you know. And then will cry "FOUL!", and expect me to stop the school yard bully from bloodying your nose any more.

Nope, won't happen. For all of the unwarranted crap that a lot of you have seen fit to shove my way the last 2 weeks, nope.......I will not take pity on you. None of you saw fit to present your positions with anything other than vitriol aimed at Signoro Curl and myself.

None of which was warranted or true. I now think I know why the Mod Squad over at Wal-Mart has so little patience with crap. There is a big difference between well-reasoned differences of opinion and flat out hatred.

At least no one here will have their posts deleted, edited or mysteriously vapourised in the dead of night, and their account whisked away to the land of the bogs and the little people for being a PITA.

Too bad some of the combatants have seen fit to leave for "greener" pastures. We all wish them well.

If there was only some way we can create the forum equivalent of "Kenny Blankenship's Most Painful Eliminations of the Day", like they have on MXC. That might just be something I would pay money to read.
