So we are online for one year. It is up to you to decide what we have and what we have not managed to do but we anyhow like to believe that the things we did do were the positive ones. Funnily enough, some of us actually believe that this place had positive influence to the other place... not that I?d still call it a decent enough but one year ago it was at the lowest point in its history, seriously assuming right to rip off own members.

Wish you happy holidays and more good topics during the following year.

Location: The Labour Exchange....be seeing you!
That reminds me...........someone that I know has a birthday today. Great.......one more thing for him to get depresses about.

Oh well, not my problem.

Anyway, yes, it seems that our minor revolt had some effect on that other place. Amazing, isn't it??? So, I guess it has all been worth it.

But:

We could use more members. Contributing members. Useful content is always in need. I think it is safe to say that the direction that we are heading that we will not have to worry that this place will deteriorate to a car audio hangout. Or a place that the unscrupulous will come to peddle their dreck. Maybe having someone as frightening as me for head mod scares them off. In which case, I may be stuck with this position for quite some time.

Anyway, we seem to be strongly oriented in the area of solid-state. Not much inroads into speakers or tube gear. Having an active speaker area would be nice, but until and unless we attract some fairly knowledgeable people in that area, we will have to hobble along the way we are.

The only thing that I find disappointing is that some of the people who pushed strongly for this have seemed to fallen off of the face of the earth. A few are lucky: they found jobs that take all of their free time. Some others have just flaked out on us, and yes, I fell let let down. (Seems to be the norm these days.........."friends" who claim that they will help flaking out. I have experienced similar problems with my business. The end result is that audio becomes less fun with each passing day. So, I have said this before, do not do this for a living. You will come to wish that you hadn't.)

But thanks to all of you who have stuck it out and have not bailed on us. Time will tell if it was all worthwhile. So far, it has been. But it can always be better.

Jocko

Hi, here a word from the deputy:
Geeh Jocko what a friendly tone!
I personally think this forum is NOT the success we hoped for. On the other hand the other forum is falling apart in a complete mud of nonsense, pseudo scientists, wiz-kids and other childish guys who speak before they think, if they can think ?berhaupt. Wanna see my workspace? LOL. And then we have Audio-Circles a place where guys run in circles, throwing boutique parts at each other....
I have looong given up to correct nonsense, and foolish ideas, I would have a daytime task doing that.
And now some guys have found me on Yahoo chat, OMG. They are quickly put on ignore, LOL. After I kindly informed them chat is reserved to girls, hahaha. Most notably Terminator-X, 173 kg heavy! I warned him he is killing himself. BTW Jocko how heavy is Phred in lbs? (no need to convert to metric kg)
If I see 442 guys on line there, I think their "success" is killing them! (Also an obesity problem)
-----------------end of chat rant------------------------------
