Hi,
I have noticed of late that my Denon PMA-920 amp is sounding a bit tired, compared to a relatively low-fi Yamaha home theater amp. The bass notes from the Denon seem a bit muddled. For example, in a base guitar note, I cannot hear that first pluck of the string. So I decided to have a go at doing a refurbishment. The only thing I can think of to replace are the power supply caps. The Denon has 4 8000uF 63V caps after the rectifier, which I think may be the source of the problem. I will progressively replace all the electrolytics in the amp since these are the components which are prone to deterioration with age.

Are there any other mods that I can make to this amp that anybody knows of? All suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
