Hi Greg,

Ok, sounds good.

As I write this, it is getting towards Sunday evening, and the time now is 5:48 PM. What time and day is it in Australia?

Ray

For US or nearby amp builders, here is another toroid supplier, very reasonable -

http://www.toroid-transformer.com/

Their AN-3232 would seem well suited to the GB150D

Cheers,
Greg

Hi,
no wonder some US domiciled builders don't understand what voltage to expect from a mains transformer.

Antek are specifying the 3232 as a 32V transformer, but that is based on 115:32.
They then show input:output voltages as 120:30.9 when delivering 288W.
If this is corrected for 115Vmains the voltage will come down to about 29.6Vac @ the same 9.3A (about 275VA).

It appears Antek are calling up a transformer that should be 29.5Vac as a 32Vac. At the full 300VA it might be even lower than 29.5Vac

Like I said, no wonder the buyers get confused when the manufacturer hasn't got a clue.

Hi Andrew,

Yes - it's a strange way to spec them, and it does look more like a twin 30V than a twin 32!

The AN-3236 would work well for 8 ohm only GB150D builds for a little more peak power.
