When working with Uncle Bill's Operating Systems AND browsers different than te IE, strange things happen.
I've got some problems like these some time ago, when I use Firefox to check my mail via web.
When I save images, some of them were saved as BMP and with the name 'untitled'... Even if they were gif, jpg or png...
Like you said Jocko: 'go figure'...

dougigs received 1Mb of image..."JEZZ"....
That's very big for sending by dial-up...

BTW, nice pcb's

Naw, it wasn't quite that bad.... My Windows XP saved Jocko's file as 1,024K, which must be its default size for .bmp files.

But Jocko's email, with the .bmp picture embedded, was sized at 171 K according to my Outlook. Still too large for a single schematic to be shoved through dialup.

Might be the minimum file size, depending on HD allocation.

Anyway, I give up for now.............have other stuff to contend with.

Jocko,

Your mail had an embebed image.
The menu option "Save image..." appears disabled (go figure...) so I used the "Copy image to clipboard" and in paint I have saved as .bmp.
Indeed it gets to 1Mb. Then I have converted to .gif with irfanview and it shrinked to 37Kb.
But in your mail, I can do "Image properties..." and it is a JPEG, 159Kb.
Although your message has 222Kb in size.
Just imagine the extra trash that comes along with that.

Or you send as a regular attachment, or just zip it and send the zip file.
It may save you time.

Jeez, I miss Wordstar and that IBM mono screen...

None.
The schematic is secret and so is the "miracle" opamp.
Jocko will e-mail you the schematic.
Hopefully.
Prepare yourself to receive a big file. [joke]

Jocko failed to deliver.
I spent over half an hour searching 23pages of posts.
All I got was a PCB + IC

Is snail mail around the world quicker than Email or Forum posts?

Andrew, Jocko forgot to send you a PM with the schematic.
No big deal.
Please wait for him to reply, must be early in the morning there.

Hi
So, I finally had some time to put it together. I have been busy building up the project it is going into, a modded, recased squeezebox.

Right now, I have been using a tent clock in a XO3 to clock my SB.

I built up a LM317 based reg, to power the Jocko Reg. It is providing a little over 13VDC.

I have three green leds, and my Jocko reg is putting out around 5.62 VDC.

This is a little high to power my tent clock, I want it to be around 5.3 volts.

So, wondering how I can drop the voltage a few tenths of a volt? Different LEDs.

Randy
