Maybe they don't have command of the English language that you do. I wonder how well South Park translates into other languages.

Speaking of which, and totally off=topic, and probably worth censoring............

One of the minor broadcast networks shows edited versions of South Park every week night. It is common for shows that go into syndication, as it is known, to cut a small amount of the content. This allows for inserting more adverts. Since a great deal of my time is wasted on pointless activities, like watching goofball animation, I get the opportunity to pick out all the clipped bits.

When it comes to South Park, there is so much foul language, that it leaves lots of places to shorten each episode. But I don't get how they decide what is too coarse.

The 2 that I don't get are in the same episode:

"Blood belching vagina" gets shortened to just "belching vagina". "Semen puking asshole" becomes "puking asshole".

How are those any less offensive, gross, disgusting, or just plain vulgar for the sake of vulgarity?

Yeah, I worry about me as well. I can remember total crap like that, but not what I had for breakfast.

Or if I even had breakfast. Getting old really sucks.

I don't know if they are still displaying South Park here, but it was not censored.
And it was called... guess what: South Park.

In the States the sensorship works with meaningless things...
I remember Frankie Goes To Hollywood's single "Relax" was forbidden, and so did Sex Pistols' "God save the queen" (I think in England too) and Elvis was too 'explicit' in his dancing.

Now... what's wrong with a whatever vagina?
South Park can be completely uncensored. It just has to be shown late at night, when children are not watching TV.

As of I think last year comedy central started showing South Park uncensored. Initially I thought it great but later realized it takes away from the joke. Since they only censored a syllable you could always tell exactly what they were saying, from a time when any movie on TV would be heavily bleeped over, or worse, cheesy-word replacement, and it was unheard of for cartoons to have cursing at all, this was part of the allure, as in a way it beat the system. Kids these days and their tv dinners..

It also made Kenny's mumbling especially brilliant at times. It seems indicative of a failure on commedy central's part to get their own joke.

Jocko from your example I'd surmise their criteria wasn't at all what was too coarse so much as what was redundant. Nothing is too coarse for tv anymore now that they've got the internet to contend with as the superior babysitter.

Maybe Google. Or some other search engine.

OK, 'splain to me how you type in Butch Dixon and get referred to my crappy little site. I poked around some (and is this gonna sound like a really bad pun, but............) but I think it has to do something with a.........a.........a................gay porny vid.

Yep, seems like that "homo" part of my moniker means nothing about monkey men, but instead with butt burglars. Oh well. Can't say that I am surprised in any way, but how do I show up in a search for any kind of porny vid?

And as if that was not bizarre enough...........

This has to take the cake..........

A search in Espanol!

Yep, looks like someone was looking for an index of glycemic acid in carbohydrates (just guessing from what little French and Italian that I know), but just exactly what the hell does that have to do with puny PCBs and my rants about The Pub?????

Search engines....................folks wonder why I get irate when they say "Oh, well, you can just Google it, and find out that way."

Google my @$$.

I have a solution to that...

edit robots.txt on your server's root folder.

put this lines:
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /

check if your file has any reference to google. delete it.

Jocko, as your site has so many visitors (sometimes for the wrong reasons, as it seems), you may consider to sell screen space by the pixel for publicity.
A kid in the USA made a fortune with that.

:D

Uh........don't think that I do. But I might. If I do, the image one has to go. No reason for that one to be poking around.
