Now that my move is finished the stereo is connected to the TV and associated stuff. My kid has a PS3 that we use for watching movies and streaming. The PS3 does not have any audio outs, only HDMI. I'm running stereo not 5.1 and I don't have a receiver to decode the HDMI.

On line I see a number of HDMI to audio decoder boxes for $30-$40. Anybody have experience with any of these? Any other suggestions?

1. You have Toslink output on back panel.

2. You have USB on front panel, connect external sound card to USB. If you want something dirty cheap, search Ebay item number 181157877684 or something similar.

3. You have AV Multi Out connector on back panel. Buy appropriate cable, with black square AV multi connector on one side and three RCA's (red, white, yellow) on the other side. They are L & R line level audio out and Video out.

That is correct, there are analog audio and video signals on that proprietary plug at the back, even RGB.
With this cable that stormsonic has posted (I had a similar thing way back when my son had a PS2) you have your problem solved, you just need the stereo analog audio output and this cable has that.
