You could do a lot, lot worse. This is a good, mostly zero feedback design. The JFET for the negative regulator is out of production, but you still may find stock somewhere. Overall, I'd say that it's a very good starting point. You can always play around with it if you get bored.

good for digital ic with constant current demand. High output Z.
For analog use shunt regulator. Your ears will be grateful

It's kind of funny to be using such an active filter and then construct it with noisy and microphonic components while calling them good enough.. super.

The reason this is good with a constant load is because it doesn't regulate, so it's just less good with non constant loads. The reason for "digital" loads is because if it does clean anything up it might help with jitter or something and it likely stands a chance of being less usefull with more dynamic analog loads.

I doubt this is on par with other actual super regulators and if they can't show you any meaningful measurements for it, then it's just a product. Regulators come with specs.

To my ears it sounds great.

I am using it for my current opamp based preamp.

Using jfet instead of bipolar transistor makes it audibly better.

My sims show high output impedance, and knowing that I can get a much smaller output impedance with the same number of parts, the choice is clear. There's at least one smart thing about this circuit, and that's the fact that it avoids a zener reference.
