A musical rendidion of the poem of Álvaro de Campos, heteronym of Fernando Pessoa :)

I liked the artist, thanks Carlos. Loved the second song on this one:

Uh, why do you guys spend so much effort on audio gear, in order to use it on You Boob?

I don't get it. But, there is a lot about the modern world that I don't get.

I also enjoy high quality recordings, but not so often lately. There were periods I couldn´t stand mp3, but I am over that. In the sense that the artistic quality is what matters more now.

Yes, I understand your point perfectly.
I knew several musicians that listened to music in badly recorded cassettes on boomboxes, or badly scratched LPs on cheapo turntables, with a coin on top of the cart, to survive all those scratches without jumping too much.
The thing is, as much as it sounded bad, it didn't offend too much because analog can sound bad but not aggress, it can still sound "natural". Sort of...

The thing with utube is that the SD videos (up to 480p) have the audio at 96k mp3 (!) while the HD videos are a little better, but not much (~160k).
Not only is it low bitrate, even worse, it is low bitrate mp3, an ancient codec from the 20th century, proprietary, licensed and patent-encumbered (who would pay for this junk?) and one of the worst sounding, specially at low bitrates.
It sounds "digital" in the worse sense, like the CD releases from the 80's, but the problem is that most data is in the high frequencies and in low bitrate encoding it gets chunked, crippled, mangled, you end up with a marvelous high frequency extention of... 10Khz (fortunately, because trying to maintain 20Khz extension would sound even worse).
It's not good for the brain.

This discussion is interesting, you may have a point there Carlos... Bad digital may not be as good a stimulus to the brain. Real live orchestra is so stimulating, I´ve been to a few concerts and rehearsals (I love the rehearsals!)

Still I have been able to get my mood high with mp3 and youtube. But you may be right, it might be less effective or maybe even offending at times.

Friends don't let friends listen to MP3s.
