I can't say for certain what they used but for most aquariums the glue used is MEK or acetone. I've made a number of pieces for my aquariums this way.

Not sure if it's OK to post here - but this is my interpretation of PSU chassis - for my GC with LM3886. It's a 225VA trannie and a bridge with MURs inside ...

Aompletely from Al - front and sides from 1cm thick one, top, bottom and back from 5mm

And I wanted to use as less screws as possible ...

Another case of a chassis that will be finished (I hope) in about a month or two (chroniccaly without propriaate time these days :Hangman: )

It's supposed to become MiniA with BoZ or AL pre in one chassis ...

I mean - my first projects were so ugly - they are allready long forgotten history ... Those picture presents what I could call 2nd and 3rd generation of my skills ... With each attempt there so much you can learn ...

But I admit - those plates were brushed before eloxation by a pro - I wasn't to happy with the result I got ... Too much "zickzack" ...

I also have to treat wood sides somehow ... ??
I never used wood yet - so another new experiences ...
